Join us for Plein-Air Classes designed to empower participants in the outdoor painting experience. Bring your outdoor painting gear complete with easel, blank canvases or panels and your paint and supplies in your medium of choice, and get guidance from Michael Gault, a plein-air award-winning artist.
Michael has a BFA and Master's Degree in studio art and has taught art at the college level. He was introduced to plein-air while pursuing his BFA at the Kansas City Art Institute by the renowned regional artist, Wilbur Niewald.
This workshop will give you an opportunity to get individualized feedback and training from one of the most experienced plein-air mentors in the region! Get ready for the Pikes Peak Art Adventure by participating in this workshop.
Classes will be held on Wednesdays, (6/5, 6/12, 6/19 & 6/26) from 12:30 - 3:30. The Group will meet at Westside Gallery & go to Plein-Air locations in the area. (All locations will be easy walking distance from parking.)

An introduction to painting with oils class will being offered by award-winning artist, Michael Gault.
The class will focus on setup and preparation to paint, how to begin, and the painting process.
Participants will be introduced to the elements of painting, understanding composition, and values. Subject matter will be provided to maximize time and provide more thorough critiques.
Materials for class: Oil paints (Titanium White, Zinc White, Paynes Grey, Indian Yellow, Cadmium Yellow Lemon, Cadmium Red Medium, Alizarin Permanent, Phthalo Blue), two canvas or panel bords at least 8 by 10, an assortment of oil painting brushes #4 - #12, mixing medium, odorless turpenoid, a gray or white palette, two solvent cups, & a pencil or vine charcoal.

Bring whatever art you're working on, in any medium, and get guidance from a multi-award winning artist. Michael has a BFA and a Master's Degree in studio art and has taught at the college level in multiple states. His work has been shown in many galleries, in the states and internationally.
This class gives you an opportunity to get one-on-one feedback from one of the most experience mentors in the region on your work! Some classes are geared to work on whatever you want to paint and some Michael is represented locally by Reserve Our Gallery and is a part of the Westside Art Community.
Classes are sponsored by Reserve Our Gallery and held on Wednesdays, 1 – 3 p.m at Westside Gallery, 300 W. Lake Ave. Woodland Park, CO. Classes renew monthly and will end May 22 for a summer break. To sign up for the May class schedule click on the Link below and register. We hope to see you there!
