Register Now for June Classes! 

Join Michael for the 2026  Plein-Air Classes designed to empower participants in the outdoor painting experience. Bring your outdoor painting gear complete with easel, blank canvases or panels and your paint and supplies in your medium of choice, and get guidance from Michael Gault, an international award winner for his workshops in Colorado as well as a plein-air award-winning artist. 

Michael holds a BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute and a MA from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He was introduced to plein-air while pursuing his BFA at the Kansas City Art Institute by the renowned regional artist, Wilbur Niewald. 

This workshop will give you an opportunity to get individualized feedback and training from one of the most experienced plein-air mentors in the region! Get ready for the Pikes Peak Art Adventure by participating in this workshop.

Classes will be held on Wednesdays, (7/5, 7/12, 7/19 & 7/26) from 9:00 - 11:30 a.m.. Each class will be held in a different destination in the Woodland Park/Pikes Peak area. (All locations will be easy walking distance from parking.) Total cost for the 4 classes is $200. Registration space is limited so register  early.

Coming in April! 

A drawing class focused on helping the artist to draw from life to advance the artist's eye and painting from life for better composition and space. 

Participants will be introduced to what professors are telling you when they tell you to "look" at the subject. Focus on the elements of drawing  and understanding what space and shapes mean to an artist, as well as the difference between the types of lines used in the drawing process. 

Materials for class: Sketch book, artist's choice of pencils, charcoal, pen & erasers.

Michael holds a BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute and a MA from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He multiple awards for his charcoal drawings of historical Native-Americans. 

Classes will be held on Wednesday afternoons through the month of April, between 1:30 & 3:30 p.m. Total cost for these 4 classes is $160. Registration space is limited so register early.

Bring whatever art you're working on, in any medium, in any genre and get guidance from a multi-award winning artist. 

Michael has a BFA and a Master's Degree in studio art and has taught at the college level in multiple states. His work has been shown in many galleries, in the states and internationally. He has won international awards for his landscapes, still lifes, drawings, & portraits as well as his non-representational and abstract paintings.

This class gives you an opportunity to get one-on-one feedback from one of the most experience mentors in the region on your work! Classes are geared to work on whatever you want to paint and Michael is represented locally by Reserve Our Gallery and is a part of the Westside Art Community and Woodland Park Art Gallery.

Classes are sponsored by Reserve Our Gallery and held on Wednesdays, 1 – 3 p.m at Westside Gallery, 300 W. Lake Ave. Woodland Park, CO.
